966045655WHEREAS, Lee Bradley, recently retired Special Agent in charge of the Criminal Investigations Bureau at the Salem barracks of the Virginia State Police, died on June 15, 1995; and
WHEREAS, a native of Rockbridge County, Lee Bradley was well-known in his youth for his baseball talent, which won him a tryout with the Washington Senators in the 1950s; and
WHEREAS, his wonderful curve ball was not enough to get him to the Major Leagues, so Lee Bradley joined the Virginia State Police, which he served with great dedication and distinction for nearly 40 years; and
WHEREAS, during his long career with the State Police, Lee Bradley served throughout the Commonwealth, building a reputation for thoroughness, professionalism, integrity, and a unique ability to communicate with the people he served; and
WHEREAS, Lee Bradley's sincerity, honesty, and lack of pretension won him many friends and admirers and greatly enhanced his effectiveness as a special agent; and
WHEREAS, a quiet, self-effacing man, Lee Bradley leaves an enduring and enviable legacy of accomplishment, dedication, and distinguished service to the citizens of Virginia; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly note with great sadness the passing of Lee Bradley, a Virginian of surpassing accomplishment and devotion; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Lee Bradley as an expression of the General Assembly's abiding respect for his memory.
