WHEREAS, N. Bruce Miller, the director of News and Public Affairs for WNVC-TV, Channel 56, in Falls Church, has announced his retirement; and

WHEREAS, a skilled reporter, Bruce Miller began covering the General Assembly in 1958, first as a radio and television commentator in Richmond and then as a reporter for public television; and

WHEREAS, one of the founders of WNVC in Northern Virginia, Bruce Miller developed televised coverage of the General Assembly and has long been recognized as an authoritative political reporter and producer; and

WHEREAS, Bruce Miller has been frequently cited for his outstanding work in news and public affairs programming, including four consecutive Freedom Foundation awards for his "American System" program, a 26-part series on federal, state, and local government; and

WHEREAS, a veteran of nearly 40 years of General Assembly coverage, Bruce Miller has a well-earned reputation for professionalism, insightful reporting, and dedication to the legislative history of the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly commend N. Bruce Miller for his many journalistic accomplishments; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to N. Bruce Miller as an expression of the General Assembly's appreciation for his professional contributions and best wishes for a long and fulfilling retirement.
