HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 78
On the death of Charles Henry Yeatts.

WHEREAS, Charles Henry Yeatts, the New Kent County Commissioner of Revenue and a singularly dedicated public servant, died on May 16, 1995; and

WHEREAS, a native of Patrick County, Chuck Yeatts settled in New Kent County following a 27-year career with the U.S. Navy Civil Engineering Corps; and

WHEREAS, since 1983 Chuck Yeatts served the citizens of New Kent County as Commissioner of Revenue, tirelessly striving to improve the lives of County residents; and

WHEREAS, known for his extraordinary dedication to his job and his uncanny ability to find additional revenue sources for New Kent County, Chuck Yeatts was an innovative public official who had planned to offer his talents to the voters in the next Board of Supervisors election; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Yeatts leaves a legacy of unmatched service to New Kent County, and his energetic and effective leadership will be sorely missed; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the untimely death of a dedicated public servant, Charles Henry Yeatts; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Charles Henry Yeatts as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
