Commending Beulah Wallace.

WHEREAS, for more than a half-century, Beulah Wallace has dedicated her considerable talents and energy to the betterment of her community; and

WHEREAS, a native of York County, Beulah Wallace, with her late husband William, moved to the Grove Community in James City County in 1943; and

WHEREAS, known to her many friends as "BJ," Beulah Wallace has given unstintingly of her time and energy to help a wide variety of individuals and organizations in the James City County area; and

WHEREAS, a pioneer in the Grove Recreation Association, which has sponsored Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops for over 50 years, Beulah Wallace has served as a Girl Scout leader and has worked with the Grove Community Association's "Helping People Help Themselves" program; and

WHEREAS, Beulah Wallace has also worked closely with the local schools, chairing fund-raisers for band equipment and working with the PTA; and

WHEREAS, for over 50 years, Beulah Wallace has been a prominent and active member of the Williamsburg-James City-York Branch of the NAACP; and

WHEREAS, in addition to her tireless efforts on behalf of worthy organizations, Beulah Wallace has helped countless people on an individual level, providing money, food, clothing, and counseling to many local families in distress; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Beulah Wallace for setting an enviable standard of selflessness, generosity, and devotion to the welfare of her community; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Beulah Wallace as an expression of the General Assembly's gratitude for her long and productive career of service to her community.
