Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 24.2-914.1 as follows:

§ 24.2-914.1. State Board of Elections to provide software programs for campaign finance disclosure reports.

The State Board of Elections shall [ procure one or more software programs to develop at least one software program which may ] be used in preparing and producing by computer the reports of contributions and expenditures required by this article. The Board shall have the software programs available for distribution by January 1, 1997, and may require payment for the reasonable cost of a software program from any person requesting it.
