1996 SESSION
961201252Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Department of Transportation shall and erect and maintain, at an appropriate and conspicuous location on or adjacent to Interstate Route 64, a sign or signs providing motorists directions to any business attraction that:
1. Has been in continuous existence for at least fifty years;
2. Is located contiguous to Interstate Route 64;
3. Attracts 500,000 or more visitors annually;
4. Is served by AMTRAK;
5. Maintains a branch or subsidiary operation in a foreign country subject to the North American Free Trade Agreement; and
6. Was commended for its activities and achievements by House Joint Resolution No. 218 of the 1988 Regular Session of the Virginia General Assembly.
Nothing in this act shall relieve the owner of the business attraction to which the signs pertain of the obligation to pay the requisite fees for this service.
