HOUSE BILL NO 656 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Education on February 9, 1996) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Orrock) A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 4 of Chapter 13 of Title 22.1 a section numbered 22.1-227.01, relating to vocational education.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 4 of Chapter 13 of Title 22.1 a section numbered 22.1-227.01 as follows:

§ 22.1-227.01. Vocational education defined.

As used in this article, "vocational education" means an organized education program offering a sequence of courses which may incorporate field, laboratory, and classroom instruction; and which emphasize occupational experiences and are designed to prepare individuals for further education and gainful employment.
