HOUSE BILL NO. 1521 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Appropriations on February 10, 1996) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate Van Landingham) A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 22.1-342.1, relating to the compensation of teachers in the schools of the correctional centers.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 22.1-342.1 as follows:

§22.1-342.1. Compensation of teachers in the schools of correctional centers.

In any case in which the Board employs a teacher licensed by the Board of Education to provide instruction in the schools of the correctional centers, the Department of Personnel and Training shall establish salary schedules for the teachers which are competitive with those in effect for the school division in which the correctional center is located.
