Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 22.1-342.1 as follows:

§22.1-342.1. Compensation of teachers in the schools of youth correctional centers.

In any case in which the Board employs a teacher licensed by the Board of Education to provide instruction in the schools of the youth correctional centers, the Department of Personnel and Training shall establish salary schedules for the teachers which are competitive with those in effect for the school division in which the youth correctional center is located.
