Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 18.2-309.1 as follows:
§ 18.2-309.1. Civil liability for furnishing certain weapons to minors.
Any person whose property or person is injured by reason of a violation of § 18.2-309 may sue the person convicted of the violation and recover for (i) any damages caused by the minor transferee in his use or misuse of the weapon which was the subject of the violation and (ii) the costs of suit.
