CHAPTER 349 An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 15.1-965.22:1, relating to transition of city to town status. [H 345] Approved March 22, 1996

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 15.1-965.22:1 as follows:

§ 15.1-965.22:1. Restriction on subsequent change in status.

Notwithstanding any contrary provision of law, general or special, a town created under this chapter shall not return to its previous independent city status.
