SUMMARY:

Study; bioassessment protocols. Requests the Department of Environmental Quality and Conservation and Recreation and the Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Department to continue and expand their interagency committee to coordinate and improve the efficiency and consistency of the stormwater management program. The Department of Environmental Quality, in cooperation with Virginia universities, is also requested to evaluate available bioassessments methodologies and tools and develop, if necessary, standardized protocols for the conduct of bioassessments in watersheds of up to 560 acres in size and identify reference streams and conditions against which data collected through bioassessments may be compared. The Department of Environmental Quality is requested to develop a database tracking system for all bioassessment data and monitoring information than can be used for watersheds regardless of size.
