SUMMARY:

Nurse practitioners. Changes the supervisory ratios for prescriptive authority for nurse practitioners from 1:2 to 1:4 in private practice settings, the same as the ratios in public health settings. A sunset clause provides that the 1:4 ratio will expire on January 1, 2000 and the 1:2 ratio will again be effective. This is a recommendation of the Joint Health Care Commission.
