SUMMARY:

Child custody; jurisdiction. Provides that the exercise of jurisdiction over a child custody matter by either the juvenile court or the circuit court divests the other court of jurisdiction. Child custody matters heard in the juvenile court will be appealed to the Court of Appeals. The juvenile court must give notice to the parties upon filing that the matter will be appealable only to the Court of Appeals and at that point, the party may elect to transfer the matter to the circuit court.
