SUMMARY:

Banking and finance; trust companies. Authorizes the Virginia State Corporation Commission's Bureau of Financial Institutions to prevent unfit persons or entities from controlling affiliated trust companies. The bill also improves the Bureau's ability to ensure the soundness of trust companies and to preclude outside influences from affecting corporate trustees. The bill's provisions are to become effective on April 1, 1995.
