SB 740 Stock ownership required of bank directors.

Introduced by: Charles J. Colgan | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Stock ownership required of bank directors. Requires a person elected or reelected a director of a bank after July 1, 1995, to own stock in such bank having a book value of at least $5,000. Under current law, such bank directors are required to own an amount of stock, based on its par value, in proportion to the bank's capital stock. According to the State Corporation Commission, the current requirement can be a problem in situations when the par value is relatively small and the bank has substantial capital. Obsolete categories of bank capital are eliminated.
