SB 739 Mortgage Lender and Broker Act.

SUMMARY:

Mortgage Lender and Broker Act. Clarifies that an exemption from the Act for making 10 or fewer mortgage loans in a 12-month period applies only to lenders. The bill also requires that a lender or broker required to be licensed under the Act maintain its records where such lender or broker is authorized to do regulated business (i.e., its licensed offices). Finally, the bill eliminates a prohibition against a lender or broker advertising that it is regulated or supervised by the State Corporation Commission.
