SB 687 Campaign finance disclosure reports.
Introduced by: Joseph V. Gartlan, Jr. | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Campaign finance disclosure reports. Restores the requirement that November election candidates must file a disclosure report September 15 for the period June 30 through August 31. The bill further provides (i) that, if a local political party committee is required by present law to file disclosure reports with the State Board of Elections, it shall also file copies with the local electoral board for its jurisdiction and (ii) that the State Board of Elections will notify persons who file incomplete reports before assessing civil penalties. The bill allows 10 extra days to file the information needed to complete a report and an additional two weeks for good cause shown. The State Board is further directed to provide instructions for persons filing reports to assist them in completing the reports.
