SUMMARY:
Continued health insurance coverage. Requires the Commonwealth to purchase continued health insurance coverage for the surviving spouse and any dependents of any state law-enforcement officers and state correctional officers who are killed in the line of duty if certain conditions are met. Eligibility for coverage under the bill will be retroactive to January 1, 1989; however, the Commonwealth's financial obligation will begin when the bill becomes effective (July 1, 1995).
