SB 611 Parole review.

Introduced by: Joseph V. Gartlan, Jr. | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Parole review. Provides that the victim of a crime for which the prisoner is incarcerated may elect to be notified of a parole review only if the Parole Board is inclined to grant parole to the prisoner. This would allow a victim to disregard a parole review if there is little possibility that the prisoner will be released. A victim requesting such notification would have 45 days to present written or oral testimony concerning the impact the release of the prisoner would have on the victim for the Board's consideration. The Parole Board is required to consider and retain in the prisoner's parole file a victim's oral or written testimony.
