SUMMARY:
Department of Aging and Long-Term Care Services. Establishes a new department and board that include the functions of the current Department for the Aging, licensure of nursing facilities and home health organizations from the Department of Health, licensure of adult care residences and adult day care centers from the Department of Social Services, and long-term care functions of the Department of Medical Assistance Services. The new department would come into existence on July 1, 1996. This is a recommendation of the Long-Term Care and Aging Task Force convened by the Secretary of Health and Human Resources as required by HJR 603 (1993).
