SUMMARY:
Considerations in alteration of water quality standards. Allows the State Water Control Board to adopt, modify, amend or cancel a water quality standard after consideration of the economic benefits of such change, provided that the standard, as altered, will be sufficient to (i) maintain and protect existing high quality state waters, (ii) restore all other state waters to such condition of quality that any such waters will permit all reasonable public uses, (iii) support propagation and growth of all aquatic life, including game fish, which might reasonably be expected to inhabit state waters, and (iv) preserve and protect all present and anticipated water uses.
