1995 SESSION
SB 366 Possession of handgun by juvenile.
Introduced by: Henry L. Marsh, III | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Possession of handgun by juvenile. Establishes a minimum mandatory sentence of one week in secure detention for any juvenile found to be illegally possessing a handgun or assault firearm and a minimum mandatory 100 hours of community service. The bill also eliminates a reference in § 18.2 to a Class 1 misdemeanor penalty to be imposed upon a juvenile, since, under other Virginia law, juveniles cannot be found guilty of crimes; they must be adjudicated delinquent.
