SUMMARY:
Professions and Occupations; Virginia Contractor Transaction Recovery Act. Broadens the definition of "judgment" under this Act to include a claim against a regulant in bankruptcy for which claim (not otherwise disallowed by the bankruptcy court) no distribution was made by the bankruptcy court to the claimant. The bill requires the Board to determine what amount, if any, such claimant is entitled to recover from the fund. The bill also authorizes reconsideration of claims (i) previously made to the Board for which a claimant has a judgment (as newly defined by this bill) entered on or after April 26, 1993, and (ii) refiled with the Board within six months of the effective date of this bill.
