SUMMARY:

Enterprise zones. Modifies eligibility of a business firm to qualify under the provisions of the Enterprise Zone Act by designating criteria which must be met involving the percentage of employees who either are residents of the zone or have incomes below 80 percent of the median income for the jurisdiction prior to employment. Also the state business income tax credit is to apply only to the income attributable to the conduct of a firm's business within the enterprise zone. The bill additionally provides tax credits to all qualified businesses for ten years regardless of when operations within an enterprise zone began.
