SB 130 Membership credit in Retirement System.

SUMMARY:

Membership credit in the Virginia Retirement System. Provides continuous service credit, not to exceed 18 months, at no cost to any member who (i) was credited with at least fifteen years of service as of July 1, 1990, (ii) rendered service in the armed forces of the United States during Operation Desert Storm or Operation Desert Shield in the Persian Gulf from 1990 to 1991, (iii) received a discharge from the armed forces that was not dishonorable, (iv) did not withdraw his accumulated contributions, and (v) reentered service in a covered position within one year after discharge from the armed forces.
