SB 1126 Political campaign telephone polls.

SUMMARY:
Political campaign telephone polls. Requires that persons, who conduct telephone polls concerning the candidates in an election, must disclose the name of the candidate, committee or person who is paying for the poll. If the person being polled requests more identifying information, the person polling must give the registration number for a committee registered with the State Board of Elections or the name and address of the individual responsible for the poll. The bill also prohibits the giving of false or fictitious identifying information. Persons violating the section are subject to $50 civil penalties or, in the case of willful violations, to Class 1 misdemeanor penalties.
