SB 1121 Emergency Management Assistance Compact.

SUMMARY:

Military and emergency laws; Emergency Management Assistance Compact. Creates the Emergency Management Assistance Compact between Virginia, the several states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and all of the U.S. territories. The purposes of the compact are (i) to provide for mutual assistance among the states entering into the compact in managing any emergency or disaster that is duly declared by the Governor of the affected state, whether arising from natural disaster, technological hazard, manmade disaster, civil emergency aspects of resources shortages, community disorder , insurgency, or enemy attack, and (ii) to authorize emergency training exercises among the compact states.
