SB 1116 Poison control centers.

SUMMARY:
Poison control centers. Authorizes the Board of Health to establish a statewide coordinated system of preventative education and responses to poisoning. A 24-hour toll free telephone system will be established to provide information, assistance and follow-up.
The funding mechanism for the system and its services will be set in the annual appropriation act. The Board is authorized to establish poison control centers that must meet national certification standards. Each poison center is required to file an annual report with the Board regarding operations, expenditures, finances, future needs, and human poison exposure cases for the most recent calendar year.
