1995 SESSION
SB 1105 Health care; immunity for free services.
Introduced by: Mark L. Earley | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Health; immunity for free health care. Provides civil immunity for physicians serving in the armed forces and stationed at a military hospital or health facility located in the Commonwealth who provide free health care services at clinics. Hospital employees and officers and agents of the clinics are already covered. Services for which immunity is granted must be provided free of charge and the act or omission shall not be result of gross negligence or willful misconduct. This bill would allow physicians and dentists who are stationed in Virginia to provide free care to indigents and obtain immunity by deeming these individuals to be licensed in Virginia.
