SUMMARY:

Virginia Human Rights Act. Limits the impact of the decisions of the Virginia Supreme Court in Lockhart v. Commonwealth Education Systems Corp. and its companion case, Wright v. Donelly and Co., 247 Va. 98 (1994). The bill gives certain plaintiffs in employment discrimination cases the right to sue in state court under Virginia state law and authorizes the award of 12 months' back pay, including attorney's fees, as the remedy.
