SUMMARY:

Regulations governing school guidance and counseling. Requests the Board of Education to promulgate regulations governing school guidance and counseling programs. The regulations should address, among other things, access to program information, parental notification and consent to program participation, and the confidentiality of communications. Currently, Standard 2 of the Standards of Quality directs local school divisions to provide programs of pupil personnel services "designed to aid students in their educational, social and career development.”
