SUMMARY:
Constitutional amendment; initiative and referendum. Establishes procedures for direct initiative measures to enact state statutes and referenda to nullify laws or sections of laws enacted by the General Assembly. Petitions for state statutory initiatives and referenda must have signatures equal to at least 10 percent of the last vote for Governor in each congressional district in the Commonwealth. The total vote for Governor in the 1993 election was 1,793,916.
