HJ 560 Study; OB/GYN services in managed care plans.
Introduced by: Gladys B. Keating | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Study; access to obstetrical and gynecological services in managed care plans. Establishes a joint subcommittee to study the difficulties experienced by women enrolled in managed care health care plans which either require a referral for such services because they do not recognize obstetrics and gynecology as primary care or because a woman must name her gynecologist as her primary doctor in order to obtain services without the approval of the gatekeeper. This resolution notes that in several states laws have been passed to prevent these bureaucratic delays in obtaining services. The joint subcommittee will report on ways to resolve these issues.
