SUMMARY:
Study; personal attendants. Requests the Department of Medical Assistance Services to study the feasibility of amending the Elderly and Disabled Waiver to allow certain eligible persons the flexibility of hiring their own personal attendants. DMAS recently amended this waiver for persons with mental retardation to allow those individuals who are served by the Department of Rehabilitative Services to hire and be reimbursed for their own personal care aide.
