SUMMARY:

Study; oyster research strategic plan. Requests the Virginia Institute of Marine Science to develop a ten-year strategic plan for oyster research, including studies on diseases, immunity, genetics, breeding and the potential to culture native and non-native species not now being cultivated in Virginia waters. VIMS is also requested to begin the process of seeking approval for the in-water testing of non-native species.
