SUMMARY:
Constitutional amendment; conducting elections on Saturday and Sunday (first resolution). Provides for a two-day weekend voting period instead of the traditional Tuesday election date. Elections for statewide officials, General Assembly members, constitutional officers, and county governing bodies and school boards would be conducted on the first Saturday and following Sunday in November. Municipal elections would be conducted the first Saturday and following Sunday in May. Federal elections would continue to be held on Tuesday as required by federal law.
