SUMMARY:
Adult care residences. Requires adult care residences that serve adults with mental disabilities to be licensed by the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services in addition to the Department of Social Services. The Board of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services is required to promulgate regulations, in consultation with the Department of Social Services, governing those aspects of the operation of the adult care residence that are unique to a residence serving adults with mental disabilities. The two departments are required to develop an interagency agreement to administer their joint licensure responsibilities.
