HB 402 Post-election procedures; retention of materials by clerk of court.
Introduced by: Kenneth R. Melvin | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Post-election procedures; retention of election materials by clerk of the circuit court. Provides that the clerk may destroy ballots and other materials from any state or local election after one rather than two years following the election. The bill retains the requirement that ballots and other materials from any federal election must be retained for two years before being destroyed. Federal law requires that the ballots and materials be retained for 22 months following any federal election.
