SUMMARY:
Workers' compensation; calculation of average weekly wage. Changes the calculation of an injured employee's average weekly wage for purposes of determining workers' compensation benefits from 66 and 2/3 percent of the employee's gross wages to 80 percent of the employee's spendable earnings. Under the bill, this amount is calculated by reducing gross earnings by any deductions for federal taxes, state taxes and social security contributions.
