SUMMARY:

Contagious disease notice. Allows Commissioner of Health to disclose, to the extent permitted by law, the identity and disease of a patient to the patient's employer if the Commissioner determines that (i) the patient's employment responsibilities require contact with the public and (ii) the nature of the patient's disease and nature of contact with the public constitutes a threat to the public health. The bill requires the confidentiality of information disclosed by the Commissioner to the patient's employer, and provides penalties for the unlawful disclosure of such information.
