1995 SESSION
HB 2508 School crime and violence reporting and prevention.
Introduced by: James H. Dillard II | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
School crime and violence reporting and prevention. Requires the principal or his designee to notify the parent of the relevant student's involvement in a reportable incident; no information will be provided about other students. Students committing any reportable incident must participate in prevention and intervention activities, regardless of whether disciplinary action is taken or the nature of the disciplinary action. Law-enforcement agencies will be informed of criminal acts. All school divisions must identify prevention and intervention activities in the drug and violence prevention plans required by the federal Improving America's Schools Act of 1994 (Title IV - Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act). School boards are encouraged to develop and use volunteer networks for the prevention activities.
