SUMMARY:
Child day centers. Exempts child day centers located in counties with a population of less than 40,000 from licensure by the State Department of Social Services. The child day center would be required to register with the board of supervisors and to comply with health and safety requirements regarding food-service activities, health and sanitation, water supply, building code and fire codes. A criminal records check must be obtained for prospective employees and non-parent volunteers who will be alone with a child.
