SUMMARY:
Suspension of license for failure to pay court fines or costs. Stipulates that the effective date of suspension is 10 days after the conviction date unless the court sets some other specific date allowing more time to pay. Currently, the 10-day period is mandatory. Notice of the suspension consequences now must be mailed on the date of conviction or within two days thereof. This bill provides that such notice must be mailed at least eight days prior to the effective date of suspension.
