SUMMARY:
Enterprise zones. Increases the number of authorized enterprise zones from 25 to 50. A business firm may qualify for enterprise zone incentives if, among other requirements, (i) it can demonstrate that a certain percentage of its zone employees (depending on how many total employees it has) are either residents of the zone or have incomes below 80 percent of the median income for the jurisdiction prior to their employment and (ii) it is actively engaged in a trade or business in an enterprise zone or area immediately prior to such area being designated as an enterprise zone and it increases the average number of full-time employees by at least 10 percent over the higher of the preceding two year's employment levels.
