SUMMARY:
Sales and use tax; administration by commissioners of the revenue and treasurers. Provides for the local commissioners of the revenue and treasurers to administer the sales and use tax instead of the Tax Commissioner, beginning July 1, 1996. The Tax Commissioner, local commissioners of the revenue and treasurers are directed to develop a plan, including legislation, by January 1, 1996, to effect such change. The plan will be presented to the 1996 Session of the General Assembly for approval.
