SUMMARY:

Virginia Indigent Health Care Trust Fund. Authorizes local governing bodies to appropriate funds to the Virginia Indigent Health Care Trust Fund and clarifies that the Fund may accept voluntary contributions of public funds from local governments. This provision emphasizes that contributions are strictly voluntary and that there is no obligation on any local governing body to appropriate funds to any entity, including the Virginia Indigent Health Care Trust Fund. This provision is a recommendation of the Joint Commission on Health Care.
