HB 2243 Privileged communications; physician-patient.

Introduced by: J. Randy Forbes | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Privileged communications; physician-patient. Expands the exceptions to the privileged status of doctor-patient communications to allow medical malpractice defendants to communicate with other non-defendant treating health care providers when the patient's medical or physical condition is at issue without the necessity of formal discovery. Under current law, the patient-plaintiff's consent would be required before the defendant-health care provider could talk to other providers who also treated the patient.
