1995 SESSION
HB 2213 Board and Department for the Visually Handicapped; members.
Introduced by: Leo C. Wardrup, Jr. | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Board and Department for the Visually Handicapped. Increases from two to four the number of blind persons on the Board. The bill provides that current members of the Board may serve out their terms, but successive appointments must reflect the new Board composition requirements. The bill also removes the sunset requirement, placed on the act in 1992 and extended in 1994, which changes the Board from a policy to an advisory board. This change is in response to a potential conflict with federal regulations that could jeopardize its funding from the federal Rehabilitation Act.
