SUMMARY:

Child Support Security Deposit Act. Authorizes the court to order a delinquent parent to deposit assets, to be held by the Department of Social Services or a trustee appointed by the court, for the purpose of securing the payment of future support and to pay current support. The delinquent parent must be at least 60 days in arrears and may not be subject to effective wage withholding (e.g., self-employed). The amount deposited must be at least equal to the lesser of one year's support payments or $6,000 but may include other assets of a court-approved bond. A restraining order may be issued during the pendency of a proceeding to prohibit the transfer of assets.
